Demi Moore’s Milan Fashion Week Hair Illusion: A Bob That Wasn’t
Last Friday, a buzz rippled through Milan Fashion Week as Demi Moore graced the Gucci Fall/Winter 2026 runway presentation. The iconic actress, known for her signature long, raven tresses, sported a striking hydro-bob haircut, leading many fans to believe she’d finally bid farewell to her beloved mane. The dramatic transformation was the work of renowned hairstylist Dimitris Giannetos, who masterfully crafted a wig, playfully dubbed the ‘Demi-tris Bob,’ for the 63-year-old Oscar nominee.
Giannetos, a Greek-born stylist aged 42, has an impressive roster of celebrity clients, including Amal Clooney, Cindy Crawford, Gigi Hadid, Ciara, Tate McRae, Kim Kardashian, and her elder sister, Kourtney Kardashian Barker. The allure of Moore’s new look was so potent that even fellow stylist Chris McMillan, whose clientele boasts Jennifer Aniston and Sarah Jessica Parker, commented on Giannetos’ Instagram post, enthusing, “Looked great. Soooo good. She should cut!”

Addressing the Viral Moment: The Truth Behind the Bob
However, the speculation was put to rest by Moore herself. While hosting a promotional ‘Power Talks’ event for Kérastase at Nya Studios in Los Angeles on Thursday, the Landman actress addressed the viral moment. “It was an incredible moment,” she shared onstage, reflecting on the experience. “Just being able to play and step into another facet of my personality.”
Later that same day, Moore, who commands a massive social media following of 15.7 million, took to Instagram to definitively declare, “The long hair is here to stay.” The New Mexico-born grandmother, who has previously spoken about her love for her lengthy locks, showcased her enviable hair while celebrating the launch of the French luxury haircare brand’s new ‘Chronologiste Overnight Youth Serum.’ The serum is available in two sizes: a 30ml bottle for $35 and a 90ml bottle for $65.
In an interview with People back in January, Moore elaborated on her connection to her long hair. “It feels most like me,” she stated. “Being able to change my look with wigs and pieces feeds my need for change but at the end of the day I love taking it down seeing my hair fall past my waist. It’s like coming home.”
A History of Hair Transformations: From G.I. Jane to the Present
This isn’t the first time Moore has undergone a significant hair transformation for a role. The veteran actress, famously part of the “Brat Pack” era, was paid between $11 million and $12.5 million to portray Lieutenant Jordan O’Neil in Ridley Scott’s 1997 Navy SEAL-inspired drama, G.I. Jane. This role famously required her to shave her head completely on camera. Reflecting on that experience, Moore shared, “[That] probably was the most illuminating experience and one that deepened my appreciation for my hair!”
Looking Ahead: A Busy Schedule for Demi Moore
Moore’s career continues to thrive, with a packed schedule on the horizon. She is set to present at the upcoming 98th Academy Awards, airing March 15 on ABC/Hulu. She will join a star-studded lineup of presenters including Adrien Brody, Kieran Culkin, Mikey Madison, Zoe Saldaña, Javier Bardem, Chris Evans, Chase Infiniti, Kumail Nanjiani, and Maya Rudolph.
Furthermore, fans will see Moore reprise her role as M-Tex Oil owner Cami Miller in the third season of Taylor Sheridan and Christian Wallace’s Texan oil drama, Landman, which was renewed by Paramount+ last December. The critically acclaimed series is an adaptation of Christian Wallace’s 2019 podcast, Boomtown.

The Actor Award winner is also slated to play a “cutthroat fashion maven” in Boots Riley’s upcoming sci-fi comedy, I Love Boosters. The film, set to hit US theaters on May 22, features a notable cast including LaKeith Stanfield, Will Poulter, Keke Palmer, and Eiza González.
Audiences can also look forward to hearing Moore’s voice as U-Z-Onesa in Roger Holzberg’s 1997 animated film, The Magic 7. After a successful Kickstarter campaign, the film is being released as a web series this April.
In another exciting project, the Emmy-nominated producer will collaborate with Colman Domingo to portray Betty and Barney Hill, an interracial couple who famously claimed to have been abducted by aliens. This story will be told in Roger Ross Williams’ 1961-set romance, Strange Arrivals.
