Jake Trbojevic’s Future at Manly Sea Eagles
Manly Sea Eagles’ veteran forward, Jake Trbojevic, has confirmed that discussions regarding his future are ongoing, and he is likely to continue playing beyond the end of 2026. The forward initially had a slow start to the season but has since turned his game around under the guidance of Kieran Foran.
This improvement has coincided with a positive shift in Manly’s performance. The club experienced a difficult period, losing three consecutive games before sacking Anthony Seibold. However, they have not lost a single game since the appointment of their interim coach.
In an interview with News Corp, Trbojevic expressed that he is once again enjoying his time on the field. He mentioned that the change in leadership has brought a fresh perspective to the team, and the recent performances have made it easier for him to consider his future decisions.
“It’s been a really enjoyable month. Having Foz (Foran) take over has been a breath of fresh air, and the month of footy we’ve put together makes life a lot easier,” he said.
“The last few weeks have definitely made things a lot easier. I just want to make a good decision for both me and the club. I don’t want to be a burden.”
Trbojevic also emphasized the mutual respect between himself and the club, stating that the decision regarding his contract will be made soon.
It is understood that Manly has already made an offer to Trbojevic, showing their interest in keeping him at the club for another season. As a former Origin player, he remains a valuable asset due to his experience and contributions to the team.
At 32 years old, Trbojevic has faced challenges with concussion issues in recent seasons. Despite this, he hopes to maintain consistency in his appearances for the remainder of 2025 as Manly aims to make an unexpected push into the top eight.
The club will face its most significant challenge yet since Foran took over when they travel west to play against the Penrith Panthers on Sunday. This match will test their current form and determine how far they can go in the season.
