Rising Stars and Big Names in the Next Series of The Celebrity Traitors
The second series of The Celebrity Traitors is shaping up to be a star-studded affair, with several big names reportedly being lined up for the reality spin-off. Among the most talked-about additions is comedian Joanne McNally, who is said to be one of the key figures being considered for the upcoming season.
Joanne, 42, has made a name for herself as a regular on British and Irish television, appearing on shows such as Taskmaster, The Big Fat Quiz of Everything, and The Jonathan Ross Show. She also co-hosts the popular podcast My Therapist Ghosted Me alongside her best friend, Vogue Williams. A source mentioned that Joanne’s appeal lies in her ability to bridge the gap between old and new media, while her humor—often centered around her experiences as a single woman navigating the dating world—resonates with younger audiences.

Steve Pemberton and David Mitchell Set for Return
In addition to Joanne, other notable names are reportedly in talks with producers. Steve Pemberton, known for his role in The League of Gentlemen, is said to be in discussions to return for the second series. A TV insider noted that Steve would fill a similar role to Jonathan Ross, who was a long-time fan of the show and became one of its “big dogs” during the first season.
Steve’s ability to transform into different characters makes him a formidable contestant, and his involvement could bring a fresh dynamic to the game. Meanwhile, David Mitchell is also being considered for the series, further solidifying the lineup of well-known comedians and entertainers.
Amanda Holden and Alison Hammond Eyeing a Spot
Amanda Holden is another name being floated for the next series. Her best friend, Alan, won the 2025 run of the show, and she is now reportedly interested in joining. However, her schedule may pose a challenge, as she will need to balance her responsibilities on Britain’s Got Talent and her radio presenting duties.

Alison Hammond, the ITV presenter, is also reportedly in talks with BBC bosses. A source described her as “comedy gold,” drawing comparisons to Alan Carr. With a strong presence on television and a reputation for humor, she could add an exciting new dimension to the show.
Potential Contenders and Contract Talks
Other potential celebrities include Danny Dyer and Ruth Jones from Gavin & Stacey. While contracts for the second series have not yet been signed, there is a lot of interest from both the BBC and the celebrities themselves.
A representative for the BBC stated: “We’re not commenting on speculation but details about series two of The Celebrity Traitors will be announced in due course.”

The Success of the First Series
Hosted by Claudia Winkleman, The Celebrity Traitors has captivated audiences since its debut in 2022. The first series saw Alan Carr emerge victorious, successfully deceiving Nick Mohammed and David Olusoga throughout the game. His win came as a surprise, especially after he had previously claimed to be as bad a Traitor as Linda Rands from series three.
The grand finale attracted an average audience of 11.1 million, with a peak of 12 million viewers. This marked the BBC’s biggest overnight audience since the Gavin & Stacey Christmas special last year.
The final twist of the season saw Joe Marler, despite correctly identifying Alan and Cat Burns as the remaining Traitors, fail to convince the others. He was banished at the last minute, leaving viewers in shock.
