Lewis Capaldi’s gig crashes after major technical mishap

Lewis Capaldi’s Tour Faces Technical Hiccups in Denver

Lewis Capaldi, the 29-year-old Scottish singer, recently faced a technical challenge during his US tour. The incident occurred during a show in Denver at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre, forcing him to pause his performance.

Capaldi is currently on his Survive tour, which marks his return to the spotlight after taking a break in 2023 due to his battle with Tourette’s Syndrome. The tour began last September and has continued into 2026, with performances across various US cities.

During the Denver event, the show was abruptly halted due to technical issues. As the venue fell silent, Capaldi addressed the audience, stating, “Something has happened. Usually I’d be singing by now. Something technological has gone wrong. I’m not sure what the f*** has happened.”

While the team worked to resolve the issue, Capaldi made a lighthearted comment, saying, “This feels like… erectile dysfunction in a way.” Despite the setback, he decided to continue the show with an acoustic set, keeping the energy high among the crowd.

Fans took to social media to express their gratitude for the performance, with many sharing positive feedback. Some messages included:

– “One of the best shows I have ever seen! His pure talent was an amazing gift to the audience. Thank you for an Incredible show.”

– “One of the best shows I’ve ever seen. I’ve waited for him to come back on tour and could not be happier with my whole evening.”

– “The show was amazing. So organic and everyone was laughing and supportive. Honestly one of the best shows I’ve seen.”

– “I was so thankful that there were technical difficulties!”

Capaldi’s tour is named after his latest EP, released last year. Following his US dates, he will head to Canada before performing in Ireland in June and returning to the UK.

A Battle with Tourette’s and Support from Friends

Last year, Capaldi revealed that some stars claimed to have checked in on him during his hiatus but did not actually do so. He mentioned that Elton John was one of the first people to reach out after a difficult moment at Glastonbury 2023, when his Tourette’s manifested in front of thousands of fans.

“I knew he had my email but I didn’t know he had my number so he must have got it from management or something,” Capaldi said about John’s call. He described the Rocket man as a “really cool dude” and praised Niall Horan for his support during that time.

Capaldi returned to music with an emotional performance at Glastonbury almost two years after his breakdown on the same stage. After stepping away from the spotlight and the pressures of fame, he shared that he is now “doing much better” and no longer takes the antidepressant Sertraline.

“I’m not on antidepressants anymore,” Capaldi told fans on a livestream. “It was f*g hard to get off it. You could say I survived getting off Sertraline but let’s not get into that. This is happy stuff, I’m trying to share less.”

He added, “I’ve felt the best I’ve felt in a long time through therapy. I think I will always be an anxious person, accepting that’s always going to be there for me is a big thing. It’s about how I respond to anxiety.”
