The T20 Mumbai Women’s League made history with its inaugural auction, marking a significant step forward for women’s cricket in the city. Among the standout moments was the selection of 17-year-old Ira Jadhav by the Aakash Tigers for a staggering Rs. 10 lakh. The event saw intense competition as teams finalized their squads for the upcoming season. A total of 363 players were auctioned, with franchises focusing on creating balanced teams that include both young talents and experienced domestic players. In total, Rs. 1.47 crore was spent, with 50 players selected across all teams.

Ira Jadhav, who recently made headlines by becoming the first Indian to score a triple century in U-19 cricket, was the top pick. Her selection reflects the league’s focus on showcasing rising stars and providing them with a platform to shine.

Icon Players and Notable Signings

In addition to the main picks, the MCA announced the Icon Players for each team. These included:

  • Sayali Satghare (SoBo Mumbai Falcons)
  • Saima Thakor (Thane Sky Risers)
  • Humaira Kazi (Aakash Tigers)

Among other notable signings, Sanika Chalke, the India U-19 World Cup vice-captain, was acquired by the Aakash Tigers for Rs. 5.50 lakh.

  • Thane Sky Risers secured Vrushali Bhagat (Rs. 6 lakh), Khushi Bhatia (Rs. 4.50 lakh), and Zeal Dmello (Rs. 4.50 lakh).
  • SoBo Mumbai Falcons added Simran Shaikh (Rs. 7 lakh), Hurley Gala (Rs. 5 lakh), and Riya Chaudhari (Rs. 5.50 lakh).
  • Aakash Tigers bolstered their squad with Fatima Jaffer (Rs. 4.25 lakh), Mitali Mhatre (Rs. 2.75 lakh), and Jeeya Mandrawadkar (Rs. 1.50 lakh).
